What is it?

Fellowship in the Gospel. A biennial men's conference. It's what the speakers and the organizers of the conference share in. It's what we hope the men who attend will immerse themselves in during the conference and will be better equipped to do after they depart. Fellowship in the Gospel is what we all need: exhorting one another in the truth of Colossians 2:6 "[A]s you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him." This statewide men’s conference is designed to take place in between T4G years and provide local churches with gospel-centered teaching, resources and fellowship. You can expect free resources, a discounted bookstore, multiple opportunities to pray and fellowship and meals provided.

When is it?

Friday, May 5, 2017 – Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Union Lake Baptist Church in Commerce, Michigan.

What is it about?

We are very excited about the Conference Theme . . .

Capture Our Hearts Again: Our Need for Biblical Revival

Keynote Speaker Ray Ortlund will be giving three needed plenary session sermons on the biblical contours of revival. Be reminded of what God can do in His powerful grace: "When God rends the heavens and comes down on his people, a divine power achieves what human effort at its best fails to do. God's people thirst for the ministry of the Word and receive it with tender meltings of soul. The grip of the enslaving sin is broken. Reconciliation between believers is sought and granted. Spiritual things, rather than material things, capture people's hearts...A wave of divine grace washes over the church and spills out onto the world. That is what happens when God comes down." Ortlund, When God Comes to Church @ 39-40.

Once again, we are providing pre-conference sessions for earlier Friday afternoon geared specifically toward teachers and preachers. And we are delighted that professor and author, Tom Schreiner, will be our special guest teacher. He will be leading an exegetical worship on the famous and difficult warnings passages, particularly those found in the Book of Hebrews. Come with an expectation of a rich, in-depth workshop that will expose God's gracious keeping power only found in the warnings He issues specifically to believers. "Holding a proper tension between the already and not-yet aspects of God's gracious gift of salvation leads us to recognize that biblical warnings are prospective, designed to elicit faith that perseveres to the end in order to lay hold of the eternal prize of life." Schreiner & Caneday, The Race Set Before Us @ 44.

Why This Conference?

Union Lake Baptist Church in Commerce Township, Michigan will be hosting a two-day Men's Conference on May 5-6, 2017 known as Fellowship in the Gospel. The idea for this conference was born out of the great fellowship that many men from our area had at the T4G Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. T4G is a biennial conference with great gospel-centered teaching by men like C.J. Mahaney, Mark Dever, Ligon Duncan, Albert Mohler, John Piper, R.C. Sproul, and John MacArthur.

We were unaware of any conference or event focusing on the Gospel in our region, and we simply could not wait for two years to fellowship around the power and centrality of the gospel! Therefore, we developed a two-day conference in 2009 called Fellowship in the Gospel, with the hope that we could help our regional brothers in Christ to be exposed to the life-changing power of the gospel. We believe it is the key to preaching and teaching, the key to relationships, and the key to an ongoing life of transformation.

Register now and come join us on May 5-6, 2017 to Fellowship in the Gospel!
